They say - originally The Kinks. But is it true?

I suppose that the original was played by another European band, not The Kinks.
Do you know anything about the original?

It sounds a bit like Led Zeppelins "Whole Lotta Love" (1970).

Yes, I also hear the inspiration with the hit "Whole Lotta Love". This is written on the recording certificate from 1972:
group: "Synkopy 61" (Brno, then Czechoslovakia)
title of original song: "Festival"
music: Ray Davis (!)
title of the Czech version: "Festival"
I don't think Ray Davies (The Kinks) would have composed such a melody, because he would face charges of plagiarism by the Led Zeppelin group.
There are actually two possibilities:
1. The English-sung song "Festival" exists, but we don't know its author and artist.
2. Synkopy 61 group was inspired by the song "Whole Lotta Love" and invented the name "Festival" and a foreign author of music for the Czech version.
Please write me your opinion.

They say - originally The Kinks. But is it true? ...
... wohl eher NEIN !
Man hat dort wohl einiges verdreht !?
Das ist der Titel von " DOZY, BEAKY, MICK & TICH - Festival " .

Der angegebene Komponist auf der Single-A Seite "Festival" von 1970 (Fontana (UK) 6006066), ist "Davies". Das war DOZY, er hieß bürgerlich "Trevor Leonard Ward-Davies".
Das sollte die Lösung sein ...
